Really? The 4th was Sat. The clerks’ offices were closed Sunday. Even if they all changed their affiliation online, that is a pretty fast turned around from the 4th to get changes made and accurate data collected. This was happening before the 4th. Can you please show us more data? While you’re checking the previously blue data please check some of the red data where democrats have been moving to in order to change it blue. Have they really flipped parties or did they just move? Even if people switched parties in places where you can vote in a primary election for only the party you are registered under so they can vote for the less popular Republican, would they switch back after the primary? I really do like the premise of this happening, but I feel the lens through which this info is gleaned is a little too rose colored.
In southern Maine I would say about 95% of people you talk to are from Massachusetts at one time or another a lot of them have left do to politics & taxes but a lot of them still bring their liberal feelings with them if you were to look at the Maine website you can find party affiliation by towns, in Southern Maine it mostly favors libs while northern it’s mostly moderates and conservatives Trump usually wins up north,
