My uncle, when he was a teenager, lived near Fred Rogers and one night with a group of friends, they went to ‘prove’ that Mr. Rogers was a fake. They had been drinking and went over to his house, and he answered the door. Seeing this young group of boisterous teenagers up to no good, he invited them inside for tea and a meal. They left feeling bad about themselves but realized Fred Rogers was actually the same person that was portrayed on television. Great man.
