Interesting situation. Full disclosure: 75 years old, white, southern, retired military. I have seen really bad mayors. Some white, some black, some Asian, some undefined. I have also noticed that you never hear of the good one. Only the bad (reference the last two mayors of Chicago). One would think that a mayor–black or white–would have an advisor to make sure their decisions were LEGAL and ETHICAL! A town with over 50% black citizens has elected the first black Mayor. Not much of a surprise despite the past history. I have noticed that black mayors are always under the microscope for their decisions. Most white mayors should be also. Small town mayors have a bad reputation for, shall we say, bad decisions. Watching the video I see she has not displayed professionalism in the meetings. Shouting at constituents only raises problems with what I would call professionalism. A mayor needs to maintain calm in meetings. Arguing like 6 year old’s destroys any discussion. Resigning after a forensic investigation is called for indicates she knows she has made questionable decisions. It also makes me wonder about the incident with the pistol. Having a firearm where regular citizens are forbidden tells me she thinks her life is more valuable than her constituents. Something I will never agree with. If she feels she needs a firearm in a public building she needs to apply for a concealed carry like we peasants. The police are there to protect ALL who enter.
