Well, it will save MTA some $$$, since they won’t need to extend the Subway to Staten Island. I don’t think the folks in Middlesex, Union, and Hudson Counties in New Jersey will want them, so they’ll be on their own…maybe MTA will let them go on their own.

There’s New California totally constitutional, same way West Virginia was brought in. Trump knows it their paperwork is in to become New State so their very far along. It would cut out Most of L A and San Francisco and Sacramento. Divided by population and would give each state same representation. They have governance in place legislative, Senators and in contact with counties also working with New Nevada, , New Louisiana is pretty far along but New California State is amazing and totally constitutional and that is why they have gotten so far because other movements were not. Look them up

This should be SURPRISING? There are portions of Californikation that desperately NEED to secede from those portions of DEMONRAT induced decline and make CA at least into two states, and preferably THREE!
With the breakup of the American people along lines of race, religion, education, etc. this does not surprise me at all. Our uniparty, normally divided in republican/democrat subsections, has not been listening to the American people for more than 50 years. Witness how our federal debt keeps going up regardless of which subsection is in charge. STRONG presidents such as Kennedy, Reagan and Trump can make an impression but are not backed up enough to have lasting effects. The graft continues to go down and down.
Staten Island deannexing itself from New York is an example of this. With the 4 other boroughs heavily democratic they ignore the republican borough. This is an example of cities just annexing wealthy areas to take advantage of their wealth. I live 20 miles outside of Fort Myers, Florida and there are areas within the city limits that are NOT “within” the city. These are generally the poorer sections. Thus no advantage to annex them. (The County Sheriff has to police these areas).
I also suspect there will be a tremendous fight to keep this RICH borough in NYC to pay the taxes for the socialist plans of Mandani’s plans.
