Saw comments claiming that the perp had a BIG, powerful, gun. If referencing the shotgun, perhaps. The handgun reported, however, was not that BIG or powerful. And, if the agent shot was from that gun, it is likely the reason he survived so readily! It is reported to be a .38 caliber pistol. Unless it was some .38 SUPER, it was about as lethal as a .22 LR for energy delivery, and easily defeated by even light armor vests. Many survivors owe their lives to the fact these would be ‘gunnies’ are as ignorant as Democrats for what is required to defeat most body worn bulletproof vests! I would imagine that any self-defense instructor’s first WARNING to those learning about wearing those vests would be, “YOU ARE NOT BULLETPROOF!” Those vests are at first blush designed to prevent PENETRATION, and ALL the energy delivered to the impact zone will still have to be dealt with. Had that agent been shot with my EDC 10mm, and had a vest rated at IIIA, or possibly even IV, and with NO penetration of that vest, his chances of entering the morgue DOA is the more likely outcome!💀
