Don’t forget about voter ID.

Here in Oregon, we haven’t had a Republican governor since the 80’s……. since mail-in voting began. I fully believe if we end mail-in voting, we will see democrats lose elections on an unimaginable scale all across the nation.

  1. What a stupid idea. I am 85 years old, with a sound mind, but not so sound body. Not quite disabled, but difficult to get to the polls and stand in line for voting. Especially in presidential election years, when the lines are long. Let me mail in my vote.
Another asinine idea from the MAGA and Donald Trump. I guess he believes that everyone votes early and often.

    • Respectfully, I disagree. I am disabled. There have been times when I could not go down to the polling booths. Still, mail in ballets need to be outlawed or we will lose the country to tyranny.

    • If voting was that important to you, you would find a way. Call your local election office and see if they have a way to accommodate you, maybe they can have a person come to you. Many people complain because they are just lazy. Ballots should NEVER be allowed if there is a break in the chain of custody!

    • What is so asinine about you having federal taxes removed from your social security? Trump did that. If you don’t want the extra money, you can send it to me. Trump did NOT say absentee ballots were going to be eliminated. I’d say your mind is NOT sound and you belong in a crappy nursing home where you’re drugged all day and lay in your shitty diapers for hours before the CNA even bothers to check on you.

    • I understand and am a bit older than you with health issues. You may request an absentee ballot. People confuse mail-in ballots with absentee ballots. Vast difference.
Mail-in ballots are ballots mailed to anyone and everyone in a voting area. There is no way to determine whether a person has received one, two or more thus voting once, twice or thrice.
An absentee ballot is specifically for people like us. We must request the ballot which will be mailed to us before the election. We follow the directions and return the ballot to various places or by return mail. Keep voting!!!

  2. I still think there should be exceptions for mail in ballots, like being in the hospital during an election like I and many others were in the 2020 election. I voted for Trump from the hospital. On the request that my husband brought to me, I had to explain why I wanted an absentee voter ballot, I had to include my driver’s license #, exp. date, SS #, the name and location of the hospital, etc. and, of course, I had to sign it. When the ballot arrived in the mail, my husband brought the ballot to me and then mailed the completed signed ballot back in. When I voted in this election, I voted in person and it was paper ballots. I had to show my driver’s license twice. I also just had surgery on my right hand, so they allowed my son to sign my name, with his signature and initials. They recorded my son’s driver’s license info. He had to initial everything where I would have had to sign. He was allowed to fill in the squares (at my direction) on the ballot for me and it was verified at the end. The completed ballots were run through a machine. Once it was tabulated, you’re done and get your “I voted” sticker. There was no manual counting even though it was a paper ballot. It seemed pretty safe to me.

  3. Woohoo!!! Thank you President Trump. The counting system needs to change with overseers. Republicans watching Democrats and the Democrats watching Republicans to be fair.
Cameras would be good especially during the night so no one can sneak in there like the video of them dropping off boxes. They were caught on camera and acted like it never happened.

  4. Outlawing mail-in ballots should be a binary issue, either outlawing them completely or not at all. Making exceptions is why we have the mess we have now. Evil wins when we allow exception to a rule that should be absolute. Absolute never concedes to the benefit of doubt.

  5. I agree with this but recently was diagnosed with stage four cancer. I can’t drive. I hope the Republican party hires drivers to take people to vote. I don’t know how else I will in the future without mail in ballots.
