I remember being a young girl and asking my mother. “What is a Democrat and what is a republican?” Instead of giving me a proper unbiased answer she said verbatim “Democrats are people who feed and take care of poor people like us and the republicans are the rich people who wish us poor ppl were dead and not on this earth.” I was stunned and that statement alone from her shaped how I grew up thinking republicans were evil people. Only now that I am a 32 year old woman did I slowly through my years begin to realize that a lot of my beliefs turned out to be matched by republicans. Almost, all of them. I realized my mom fed me a crock of bullshit and she was a sheep.
