My parents came to the USA with three teenagers, 4 suitcases and $300 in their pocket. My uncle who sponsored us had to provide a job for my father and a house for us to live. We arrived on Thursday and Monday my father had to go to work. A year later he opened his own business, a garage repairing foreign cars. He worked his butt off, 7 days a week from 7:00- 11:00pm, but he accomplished the American dream. He educated his children and his business was very successful. I remember after he got his citizenship, on election day he would come home clean up put his suit and tie and go to vote. Then he would come home put his oily clothes back on and go back to work! he was a proud American and instilled in me to be a proud American and love this country.

I was born here and started working when I was 14 yrs old. A divorced mother with no spousal or child support from my ex. I think between jobs I have maybe collected 6 months worth worth of unemployment my entire life. I put myself and my two children through college. I am 64 yrs old and was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer last year. Social Security says I will have to wait over 2000 days for their review to get approved. Review?!? I send my whole file that outlines my cancer and where it has spread and my treatments this last year. I am a citizen and have to wait but lazy freeloaders and Illegals have no problem getting benefits. This country is so messed up.

I was shopping at the local Asian grocery one day when a male Hispanic approached me wanting to exchange his Food Stamps coupon for cash at half the values of his monthly Food Stamps. I spoke to the shop owner about this and she said he does this every month, he doesn’t need to live on Food Stamps and willingly to SELL for half price. Now a days you receive FS in the form of a debit card but it still fairly easy to do the same thing since you don’t have to show any IDs to purchases.
I own a small hair salon, a Hispanic woman came one day and wanted to pay for hair service with her Food Stamps, which she said she received every month even though she lives in Puerto Rico.
SNAP has 43 million members so there is going to be a little bit of scam my solution would be one year is the maximum you can be on SNAP
It does matter if that woman has a disability. You are narrow-minded to say that it does not matter. Be realistic and objective – not just babble without facts to prove your point.
Your point that some people may be misusing the system is absolutely correct.
Do not stop the system – fix it NOW – look at each person analyze the situation and make a compassionate fair decision. Get some of those people on “welfare” to help – give them that job. Not everyone is corrupt.

Government assistance should never be a life long benefit. Put limited access and a short timeline for these folks unless they are elderly or physically disabled. Everyone else get off their butt and get a job. They shouldn’t receive any government assistance after 6 months, which is 3 months longer than I would recommend. This would reduce the number of women with a boat load of kids and many different fathers getting more benefits the more kids they have. No extra benefits for those who don’t have a pot to piss in that produce loads of kids they can’t take care of.

Big corps have bilked you out of millions by having you pay for their labor costs because they refuse to pay a living wage so employees fall into welfare programs due to their greed. You find no fault in subsidizing the real ripping off of the taxpayers. How much are taxpayers paying to those on “welfare”. How many of those on welfare have worked or go back to work and contribute to our tax coffers? How long do most welfare recipients remain on welfare?

I am on disability forever cause I have MS and can’t work. I only get $23 a month for food cause I live In Illinois. I with I got a lil more.
I think that the government should only allow him to be on assistance for a year and tell them that that’s all they’re gonna get they need to get a job. It’s not right for her to have assistance for 30 years. Wow must be nice people work so hard and they don’t even have any money or food to feed their children, but she’s on a ride Unbelievable
