Why is it, Lynette, that the average annual property tax in NJ hovers around 9 or 10 grand, while it is around 2 grand in NC, and even lower in DEL? I have seen, with my own 2 eyes, ordinary ranch houses on ordinary suburban tracts in Upper Freehold, paying 20 grand a year, for their property taxes–and that was ten years ago! Do you know WHY we have such high property taxes in NJ, Lynette? Because your “lovely” Dem buddies in the state legislature, decades ago, gave gold-plated health insurance benefits AND generous pension benefits, to retirees from public worker unions, particularly the teachers union. And so to pay for this “lovely largesse”, bestowed upon public sector employees only, every school district had to raise taxes astronomically–at a time that most private sector workers were no longer receiving pensions, and had to pay enormous sums every month, just to get their own health insurance. And property taxes are just one area where our state govt, has it’s hands, in our pockets. We have high auto insurance rates, absurd highway, bridge and tunnel tolls. State income tax, state sales tax, heavy taxes on cigarettes, gasoline, guns, liquor, yachts–even rowboats have to be licensed & registered. Then there are the traffic violation fines, the court costs for minor infractions, the dmv license restoration fees–and on, and on, and on. Most of these high taxes, fines, fees, surcharges, and other costs imposed by government, here in NJ–did not exist, in 1960. But, over the years, the govt here put it’s hands in our taxpayers pockets, more and more. And this only serves to drive out more wealth, prosperity, and high-paying jobs, accelerating our statewide economic decline–even more!!! If everyone in this state of NJ, including you and me, never voted Democrat ever again–this economic decline would disappear, in a few years–and never come back.

I’m a born and bred Jersey girl. Having said that, I fled New Jersey because of the monstrous taxes, the crime rate, and the sanctuary policies. New Jersey is known as a welfare state. Add to that I can’t stomach Murphy, not that he who came before was a prize. It kills me to see what the politicians have done to this state. So I left along with plenty of people I know. The politicians have ruined a beautiful state.
I saw a video of blacks saying they are going to rob grocery stores and Walmarts if they don’t get their EBT cards. One young guy even said that taxpayers work for him. I hope every state turns red.

You know, Lynette, I’m 73, born and raised in Jersey, spent most of my life, here in our Garden State…I was around in 1960, 8 years old to be exact, when houses were being built–everywhere! The GM plant in Linden and the Ford plant in Edison, were busy manufacturing cars, railroads were busy and prosperous–and everyone was leaving NYC, to come to Jersey. All throughout the previous 8 years of my life, Republican Eisenhower had been president–and although I couldn’t identify very well as a kid at the time–everyone was prosperous and many were happy. Then a Democrat was elected as president–and everything started to change: wars, riots, demonstrations, civil rights troubles, race riots. Back then, in 1960, even relatively unskilled people could find jobs with good wages–if they were willing to work. But, over the following decades, slowly but steadily, most high-paying jobs left the state, most of them for good, replaced by more and more low-paying jobs. And, as the wealth and prosperity of these good jobs left the state, so did our state decline–until there were rich homes abandoned in nice suburbs, office parks deserted in many towns, storefronts vacant on nice Main Streets–and horror in ghettos, barrios and slums, that defied comprehension. Without consulting any books or articles, Lynette, I saw this economic and moral decline, myself, with my own two eyes! I still live in Jersey (why, I don’t know–so many I knew have moved to other states, less strangled by the costs of government)–and I am voting soon, for the conservative Republican candidate. Why? Because when Obama came to Edison, shortly after his historic election–to “see the people”–he saw only 4 workers in Tastee Sub Shop, for a photo opp for his benefit only–then ignored the thousands of us crammed into street corners by hundreds of police, waiting to see him, to ask him why he was spending so much more money, than his predecessor. He ignored virtually all of the “people”–he was only there to help himself, not anyone else–and certainly not us. When I realized that he had acted more like an emperor, than a man of the people, and that he had cheated us, that his visit was nothing more than a lie–I never voted for any Democrat, ever again, Lynette–nor probably ever will, either. The Democrats have wrecked New Jersey, with their high cost of government–and it is time to put a stop to it!
