I was living and working in Italy during the Red Brigades days and the Anni di Piombo (i.e., Years of Lead [bullets]), and I remember all the bombs in train stations and the knee-cappings of business people and other “collaborators”. It was not very pleasant – fascinating, but not pleasant. The Red Brigades were always being accused by people of being “CIA puppets”, but the Gladio corruption, of course, was not specifically known about or named yet (I think). One can always count on the Brits and the Yanks to get creative when it comes to dirty “intelligence” work
Very refreshing to see such journalists like this young man, full of resolve and integrity.
