I never got shot down. I’ve been to Ste Mere Eglise and 3 miles outside of town to La Fiere Bridge more times than you can imagine. All my alumni that were there and a couple months later in Holland are no longer with us. Bob Murphy started the anniversary jumps in June 1964. He stopped jumping with 986 jumps and 3 back operations. A street is named for him in the square “rue Robert Murphy”. He and Julius Eisner were 2 of the first Pathfinders to jump at DZ “O” near that bridge. Look that up on YouTube. This was where the real tank battle for the bridge took place, not “Saving Pvt Niland”. The 82nd’s worse losses in the war took place there, over 500 men lost. Not a company over the square, F-505th. And 2 men landed on the church, not just John Steele.

You can make anything look bad with enough tik tok videos out of context. I live in DC. Been here 40 years. The 80’s was the crack epidemic nationally and we had high crime at that time. Then it went up again when people were desperate during the 1st 2-3 yrs of the pandemic…just like in many other cities where people lost jobs and incomes. In the past 2 years, since our police finally were able to find and jail the members of the 2-3 teen “gangs” that were doing all the car jackings and store break ins, crime is down to a 30 year low. Those kids are in jail…crime went way down. Imagine that. The National Guard is not needed here at all, though, ward 7 & 8 could use them if they have the guts to go. They do not want to be here doing this and they DO realize it is baseless. I’ve had good conversations with quite a few of them. They say what they can. Right now they are just milling around, picking up trash and stopping drivers for broken lights, expired zone stickers, and ticketing the moped delivery kids who do not have licenses. It’s a LIE that we need them. We are part of the Admin’s test cases to try this out so they can declare Marshall law and morph into a dictatorship. Read Project 2025. It’s all in there. Members of the Heritage Foundation that wrote project 2025 are in the White House…appointed by him. None of this is a secret. They are PROUD of their rebellion against the constitution, court orders and the law. My city is by no means perfect, but it does NOT need armed National Guard. We need to budget our police so THEY can do their jobs, but the budget was cutAs well, yes, the crime rate went down since they arrived, and there have been a lot of arrests …but that is misleading out of context. It is petty crime that is down because the kids and few adults committing them are scared…theft (shoplifting, bicycle theft, package theft), minor fraud, vandalism, and public nuisance offenses, such as disorderly conduct … so they moved out to the suburbs…into Maryland and Virginia to muckety muck around. Again, the “many arrests” have been for “petty crimes” and they include immigration arrests in those figures. I will stop here.
You’re in denial. The eyes don’t lie. We see on the news the riots, the robberies, the smash and grabs, the stories of the murders, the carjackings. Even Muriel Bowser ended up thanking Trump for bringing civility back to DC. This isn’t just about the civilians that live there (who BTW are expressing their gratitude for bringing law and order to the city), this is also about DC being our nation’s capitol. Safety is extremely important to protect visiting dignitaries, and other visitors, not just the residents. There’s been hate crimes against pro Israel citizens. Don’t forget the DC intern that was killed in cold blood on July 3. Two others were injured. I know I must be forgetting a whole lot more but that’s just popped into my head as I was reading your comment. Even some of the left-wing “journalists” are admitting that crime has dropped considerably since Trump sent in the guards. Make America Safe Again!

Agreed! You lose viewership by not showing the perps! Isn’t the goal for our citizens to be on the watch for them? It seem’s as the media is more for protecting the criminals than the citizens! Elections have consequences!
Let’s face it, some people were raised in communities that imbued good values into them, and some were raised in horrible communities that instilled bad values into them. There are exceptions, of course, to every rule, including this one. But the liberals are not willing to admit that there are communities that raise children into adults, with bad values. They want to give a break to these adults, after they have already been morally wrecked–instead of facing the fact that their whole community has bad values. Every one in our society has a right to be treated fairly, but many of those from these bad communities do not play or act fair, because of being raised with bad values. And so, as a result, the rest of society shuns them–and can you blame them? Instead of blaming the rest of society for throwing them in jail, or discriminating against them–wouldn’t it be better to try to instill good values (like honesty, hard work, persistence, faith in God, persistence, reliability, open-mindedness, willingness, frugality, and patience) into these deficient communities, rather than blaming the rest of society, for what is clearly the fault of where and how these criminals have been raised? Liberals keep overlooking this important point: they want to change the values, rather than their horrible communities–so that their unpalatable values, can be accepted. And how well is that working out for them, now, huh?
Start arresting the Mayors and councils of these Democrat cities for obstruction, deprivation of rights, aiding and abetting countless Felonies, reckless endangerment, corruption and the list goes on. Johnson in particular needs to be made example of. The current Democrat party is reduced to a stridently screaming death Cult that calls anyone trying to save themselves to be MAGA Fascists. Their case hardened resistance to sanity cannot be accepted.
It’s time for warfare against these looters, all looters. Execute them all or deport them to Africa!
