I live in a yankee state, but it’s bright red and getting redder and we are a 2nd amendment state and we have stand your ground laws, which allows me to use DEADLY force if any Antifa punk tries to attack me. AND, we DON’T require a permit for concealed carry. Last I heard, North Carolina and Georgia were suppose to be red states but they seem to dance back and forth from red to blue. So, living in the south doesn’t guarantee that state will be red, but at least the winters are mild. Even as red as Texas is, they do have some pretty blue sections in that state, like Austin. The New England states are hopelessly blue and one is going communist in a few weeks.
