OUR LAST HOPE, A TRUE BATTLE CAPTAIN
America, we are once again on the path to make America great again. Why? Because over 75 million of us have re-elected the very first true ‘Battle Captain’ to ever serve as our President and Commander-in-Chief. Why do I say Donald Trump is our first true Battle Captain? Because, Donald Trump is the first president to regularly demonstrate that the ‘Seven C’s of Leadership’ are a part of his character. The ‘Seven C’s of Leadership’ listed in the order of their importance as determined in a 1980 survey of 1645 ground combat veterans are: CANDOR, COMPETENCE, COMMITMENT, CONSISTENCY, COURAGE, COMPASSION, and COURTESY.
As one of the army officers charged with finding a true Battle Captain among all those army officers serving this nation from the Revolutionary War through the Vietnam Conflict, I can testify that we only found one officer who made the grade of ‘Battle Captain’. And, he like Donald Trump was not a professional soldier. A year before the Battle of Gettysburg he was a college professor, yet most historians credit him for saving the Union Forces left flank and forcing General Lee to commit his forces to a frontal attack which failed. The Battle of Gettysburg is generally credited as the turning point of the Civil War and lead to the surrender of the Confederate Forces two years later.
Donald Trump has proven that he is indeed a Battle Captain. He has turned the attacks on our flanks and now I am confident he will succeed in an overwhelming envelopment of all the forces trying to destroy America. God bless and protect Donald Trump, and God Bless and protect America as we help Donald Trump make America great again. I leave you with one question. You mentioned seven Cs of leadership as:
CANDOR, COMPETENCE, COMMITMENT, CONSISTENCY, COURAGE, COMPASSION, and COURTESY.
Lets review how Trump does or does not have these characteristics.
1. Candor – Defined as the quality of being open and honest in expression; frankness.
Trump passes the frankness part of the definition, but fails in the others. He is neither open or honest in his expression. Honesty is foreign to him.
2. Competence – This is one of Trump’s greatest weaknesses. He knows nothing about anything. Just listen to his blather. Look at the results of his last administration. He wouldn’t read his intelligence briefings, he bolted from one position to another based on the last person to talk to him, and the list goes on and on and on.
3. Commitment – Well, he is committed but to all the wrong things. Tariffs harm the economy. The importers who have to pay the tariff will simply pass on that cost to the consumer. Do you think corporate executives and their shareholders are going to take such a hit? No, they will pass on the extra cost to their consumers.
4. Consistency – He is that. He is a consistently narcissist, money and power hungry, and cares nothing about anyone or anything except his wealth and the power that wealth can produce for him personally.
5. Courage – That’s one that I question. Bullies have a lot of outward courage, until they are challenged, then they crumble. Trump is a bully and until someone comes along to truly challenge him he will remain a bully.
6. Compassion and courtesy. Trump doesn’t know what compassion is. He cruelly wants to deport more than 11 million people from the US, the vast majority of them have lived in the US for years of even decades, but the failure of Congress to give them a path to citizenship results in their continued undocumented status. Separate families, fine, send American children to foreign countries where they will then have nothing to look forward to but abject poverty, gangs, and repressive regimes. Courtesy is only bestowed on the rich and powerful who bend the knee, kiss the ring and kiss his backside.
He fails even by your own metric. He is unworthy of the office of President of the United States in spite of the fact that he may have won the election, he didn’t win it by much. (the electoral vote, skewed by the winner take all system of selecting electors doesn’t count.) By straight votes he won only by a small margin.
