As a former US History teacher I taught a unit on immigration from the 1800’s to early 1900’s. Back then we got a better group of immigrants who were hard working and grateful to come to America. They were tough, they had to be because they did not get any freebies….no free housing in hotels, no free loaded EBT cards, no free phones – NOTHING. They knew they had to make it on their own. To do so, they had to find work almost immediately as some came with $10 in their pocket. To get a job, they had to learn the language quickly.
When libs talk about the melting pot and how it made the US great, well that was the immigrants of yesteryear who respected our country and came in legally through Ellis Island and other government centers – not the illegal immigrants of today. They are losers, they are lazy, they are liars.
