That was not an acceptable embrace for a widow to give to a married man neither in private nor in public! In fact, it is not an embrace that any woman should give to anybody but their own husband .
He was screaming at her OR upset about another matter and she was listening intently thinking of a way to calm his distress?! If he was screaming at her. she would have pulled away–but she stayed close. He was very upset about something–but not necessarily with her. Dangerous assumptions cause trouble–don’t assume!
