I’ve been going to Vegas every chance I got since I turned 21 and I’m now 78. The last 2 times I was there, it just wasn’t fun. There was nothing left there that was a “deal”. Room, food, drinks, shows, transportation, shopping, and certainly not gambling. I didn’t know that a slot machine would whistle, ring and flash when you lost money. When I’m in Vegas, most of my waking hours are sitting in front of a slot machine and most of them are cranked up to where you spend a minimum of $1.60 per roll on the penny machines and most times you lose .20, but the machine starts ringing and whistling anyway. Last time there, I played pretty solid for 3 days (lost my fanny) and I didn’t see one single person hit the $1,200 win that required the floor staff to come and get all the IRS stuff done. The machines were so tight, that it just wasn’t fun anymore. So now, I stay “local” and skip paying for expensive airlines, hotels, liquor and buffets. I generally lose the money I took with me, but I don’t have a credit card all loaded up waiting for me when I get home. It’s sad, my friends and I really had fun on our casino trips. Now, we meet for bingo.
