A local contractor has purchased an electric powered excavator simply to tick a box and to ensure that they remain on the local authority’s tender list. The operator (who I know) has been given a small diesel powered flatbed truck with a diesel powered generator mounted on the back to recharge the excavator twice a day resulting in several hours down time. You really couldn’t make it up!
A police chief saying his first priority is fighting crime makes for a refreshing and welcome change in the UK! Mind you these officers may have been on their way to somebody’s house to talk to them about having the wrong opinion.
