A Texas hospital receives massive backlash after viewers noticed that the COVID-19 vaccines received by healthcare workers on TV appeared to be fake.

On Tuesday, the University Medical Center of El Paso invited camera crews to capture the five front-liners receiving the coveted COVID-19 vaccine.

The footage that has since gone viral on social media show paramedic Ricardo Martinez receiving the supposed vaccine shot. Yet, skeptics noticed that the syringe was already pressed down.

“Clearly, that syringe was EMPTY, and the plunger was already down. Where’s the bandaid? Yeah, nice try! We are not fooled!” wrote Facebook user Barbara Siira.

“Syringe is empty. The guy didn’t push the syringe at all, bad acting,” another viewer Aaron Isaac Hernandez commented.

“Just for show. I’m definitely not taking this now,” said another Facebook user.

Martinez claimed after the press conference that he was proud he got vaccinated.

“At least I feel like I could do my job with ease,” Martinez said, according to FOX14.

University Medical Center admitted one of the staff didn’t fully receive the vaccine, and a second shot was administered to clear out the issue.

KTSM reported the hospital’s statement on removing any doubt on one of the five nurses after several reports emerged on social media claiming he didn’t receive a full dose of the vaccine on Tuesday. UMC said it would further strengthen the confidence in administering the vaccines.

The medical facility needs to ensure proper administration of the vaccine – the only hope from a seemingly endless and distressing year.
