In a Sunday interview with Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, Fox News host Chris Wallace seemed triggered when the former referred to Joe Biden as “the vice president” rather than “president-elect.”

The Fox News host asked that if the president had worn a mask then and encouraged to wear a mask back in April, “wouldn’t we be in much better shape?”

Azar replied before being interrupted by the host, “We welcome Vice President Biden to the club. Since the middle of April, the president’s guidelines have called for…”

Wallace cut him and insisted on calling Biden as the president-elect.
“He’s the president-elect, sir. He’s the president-elect.”

Without heeding the advice, Azar claimed, “The president has called masks patriotic acts. Every one of his top advisors says, wear your mask.”

The Health and Human Services Secretary stated that the officials have talked about the data. Within a meter, two people wearing masks could reduce viral transmission by 72 percent – protecting both the source and the recipient.

Azar then said that the government has the data and masks work, adding, “We encourage people, please wear a mask when you can’t engage in social distancing.”

Unsatisfied, Wallace fired back, “First of all, it’s the ‘president-elect’ Joe Biden, Secretary Azar.”

The host then commented that the president was set on April 30 not to wear a mask. Wallace claimed Trump didn’t wear a mask in public until July. He also pointed out at a Georgia rally that Trump didn’t wear a mask again, along with thousands of people attending the event.

Wallace said it was a direct violation of what the CDC and Azar are recommending.

The Secretary answered that the advice is always the same – wash hands, wear a mask when social distancing can’t be avoided. People are also advised to be extra cautious in indoor settings.
