Reality Check: Hunter Biden’s New Book Sales Numbers Are In

Hunter Biden recently published a new book — a personal memoir — titled Beautiful Things.

The book contains Hunter’s recollection of his life, from his brother Beau’s death to his affair, second marriage, and his experience with drugs.

Unfortunately, the book sales numbers were not what he hoped they would be. According to Publisher’s Weekly’s sales list, the book, published on April 6, sold 10,638 copies in its first week. It ranked at number 12 on the list of top U.S hardcover nonfiction sales.

However, on Thursday evening, it had gone down to number 208 on Amazon’s Best Sellers list, while it sat at number 4 on the New York Times bestsellers list for “Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction.”

Since the book’s release, Hunter has continued to promote Beautiful Things. But, even his promotional activities are newsworthy.

During an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning, Hunter said that he didn’t know whether the laptop that has played a role in the Justice Department’s investigation into his tax affairs was really his or not.

“Was that your laptop for real?” he was asked.

“For real, I don’t know. I really don’t know what the answer is,” Biden said. “I don’t have any idea. I have no idea.”

In response to the possibility that the laptop was indeed his, he said, “Of course. Certainly. There could be a laptop out there that was stolen from me. It could be that I was hacked. It could be that it was Russian intelligence. It could be that it was stolen from me.”
