Today, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo stands accused of sexual harassment, inappropriate behavior, and creating a hostile work environment.

The investigation into these accusations is still underway, and lawmakers are divided on how to handle the scandal.

Yahoo News! Obtained an audio recording of a conference among assembly Democrats. The recording showed that the Democrats are divided and that the conference was more of a heated debate.

Allegedly, most of the Democrats said they want the governor to go, but they don’t think he will.

“We have a moral duty, a constitutional duty to remove him from office if he does not resign,” said Assemblyman Ron Kim.

Last week, Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie had approved the start of an impeachment investigation.

However, New York Republican Chairman Nick Langworthy believes that the impeachment investigation is nothing but an attempt to “wait out” for the attorney general.

“I don’t believe he really intends to do any impeachment of this governor. I think they’re trying to wait out for the attorney general, which we also don’t have a timeline on,” Langworthy said.

New York State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart Cousins reportedly believes that the majority called on Cuomo to step down. Despite that, she said, there might not be enough votes to impeach the governor.
