Flashback: Biden Said, ‘Only Dictators Do It That Way,’ And Now He’s Doing It?

The left used to be strict constitutionalists, always acting as “conformists,” and denounce government overreach from the past four years. However, things changed when they rose to power again.

With only a little over a week in the White House, President Biden already issued dozens of executive orders to ramp up their agenda.

Biden killed jobs, expanded immigration, stripped the unborn’s protection, expanded Obamacare, and kowtowed radical transgender enthusiasts.

Biden’s executive actions are a stark contrast to his campaign narrative as a staunch opponent of the presidential EO in getting things done.

During an ABC town hall, moderator George Stephanopoulos asked the then-presidential candidate about taxing goods manufactured outside the country to encourage companies to make products in the U.S.

“So there’s not going to be any delay on the tax increases?” asked Stephanopoulos.

“I got to get the votes,” replied Biden, adding, “That’s why, the one thing, I have this strange notion. We are a democracy.”

“Some of my Republican friends and some of my Democratic friends, even occasionally say, ‘Well, if you can’t get the votes by executive order, you’re going to do something. Things you can’t do by the executive order unless you’re a dictator,’” the Democrat continued.

“We’re a democracy; we need consensus.”

Big words, broken pledge.

Fact checker outlet PolitiFact pointed out, Biden was referring specifically to taxes.

“Biden was not criticizing all executive orders as hallmarks of a dictatorship — the full context of his statement suggests that he believes an executive order on taxes would be an inappropriate use of executive power in a democracy. Biden has not issued orders on tax policy,” claimed the outlet.

Typically, Biden’s view on executive orders changed as he took a seat in the White House. To some, power is indeed addictive.

National Public Radio reported former President Obama in 2014 in getting things done through an executive order, even bragging, “I’ve got a pen, and I’ve got a phone” to issue whatever he wishes.

Meanwhile, former President Trump was treated differently by his detractors in the mainstream media. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi led in criticizing his executive actions as “absurdly unconstitutional.”

Unsurprisingly, Pelosi called Biden’s reversal to President Trump’s restrictions on transgender people in the military as “a day of great hope and progress.”

The government was set up to have checks and balances to avoid abuse of power.

Several former presidents have used executive orders, yet, Biden uses it as a tool for radical transformation.

In Biden’s words, a president unilaterally acting as a dictator is destructive to the country’s future.
