In October, Dr. Fauci warned that early COVID-19 vaccines would prevent symptoms from arising — not block infection. Doesn’t that mean that the early vaccines are not vaccines?
That’s not how vaccines operate.
Assuming that this is true, then by definition, it’s not a vaccine, it’s just a palliative treatment at best, the Gateway Pundit claims.
According to The Daily Mail, Dr. Anthony Fauci cautioned that early COVID-19 vaccines would be focused on preventing symptoms of the virus, not blocking it altogether.
Fauci, the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases director, said this during the Yahoo Finance All Markets Summit.
While all vaccines’ end goal is to make us immune to the virus and eradicate it, Fauci noted that developers are currently aiming for a simpler goal in the first round of jabs.
“The primary thing you want to do is that if people get infected, prevent them from getting sick, and if you prevent them from getting sick, you will ultimately prevent them from getting seriously ill,” he said.
According to Fauci, preventing symptoms is a “primary endpoint” in the process, while getting rid of the virus completely is considered the end goal.
“What I would settle for, and all of my colleagues would settle for, is the primary endpoint to prevent clinically recognizable disease,” he continued. “And that’s what we hope happens, and if we do, that will go a long way to diffusing this challenging crisis that we’re in.”
By reducing the severe symptoms in people who are infected, the coronavirus would, as a result, pose a lower threat as a whole. Then, scientists and experts could focus on developing a cure and not just a temporary measure.
“Adhering to public health measures now is going to make it easier and more quickly get to where we want to go, which is approaching some form of normality,” he said. While all this is good and means we’re making progress, what he just admitted also means that the “vaccine” is not really a vaccine as it only prevents early symptoms. So why are they calling it a vaccine and getting the people’s hopes up?
