Blows Up In-Her-Face: Pelosi’s Effort to Replace GOP Seat

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has been trying to steal Republican Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ house seat for weeks.

Pelosi has been strongly criticized by both Republicans and Democrats for the power grab she has been trying to accomplish.

In fact, during an interview last week, Pelosi stated that she could remove any member of Congress if she wanted to.

“Now, if I wanted to be unfair, I wouldn’t have seated the Republican from Iowa because that was my right on opening day,” Pelosi said.

“I would have just said ‘you’re not seated,’ and that would have been my right as Speaker to do.” Last Thursday, all of Pelosi’s efforts blew up in her face after Democrat Rita Hart withdrew her challenge to overturn her loss.

Previously, Miller-Meeks had won her district by 6 votes. However, Hart was unsatisfied with the result. And, not long after, Pelosi began trying to steal the seat from Miller-Meeks.

“I have decided to withdraw my contest before the House Committee on Administration,” Hart announced on Wednesday.

“Despite our best efforts to have every vote counted, the reality is that the toxic campaign of political disinformation to attack this constitutional review of the closest congressional contest in 100 years has effectively silenced the voices of Iowans,” she added.

In reality, Miller-Meeks’ victory was already certified by a bipartisan board of Iowa officials after a recount of votes.

Taking a complete turn from her original stance, Hart congratulated Miller-Meeks in the same statement.
